Crow Island School

What we did

Guiding the next generation at an iconic school celebrated for its progressive approach to design and early education
Opened in 1940, Crow Island School is recognized as one of the first truly modern educational spaces, redefining how primary school spaces could function as well as inspire. The project was born from a collaboration between a visionary educator and a talented design team, including Eero Saarinen, Eliel Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Lawrence Perkins. This book explores the school’s history, the creative collaboration behind its design, and its architectural significance, weaving together archival records and storytelling. Created as part of a stewardship campaign, it provides insight and guidance for the school’s continued growth and evolution, serving as both a resource and a celebration of its enduring legacy.
