UVA Darden Arboretum

What we did

An award-winning botanical garden nestled on the University of Virginia's grounds
The Tahija Arboretum and LaCross Botanical Gardens offer a serene retreat, blending natural beauty, wellness, and global garden educational experiences. With a restored stream and inviting walking trails, the landscape encourages visitors to slow down and connect with nature. In collaboration with landscape architects Waterstreet Studio, Hyphen developed a wayfinding system that enhances this unique educational and outdoor environment on the UVA Darden Business School grounds. Inspired by the organic folds and sculptural elegance of plants, the system integrates seamlessly into the landscape—guiding visitors, highlighting key features, and deepening their understanding of the natural world.
